Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the difference between an in-house and an open training programme?

In-house training programmes are run for delegates from one organisation at an agreed duration, timing and date. Programmes can be run at the delegates' normal place of work, eliminating travel time or they can be delivered at the skillscentre:mk.

An open programme can be attended by individuals from any organisation. The date is decided by the training provider. The training is generic which means that the material is not tailored to delegates' precise needs or to specific organisations.

What are the benefits bespoke training?
Bespoke training is often used when the organisation's requirements are unique. The major benefit of bespoke training is that it is tailored to the exact needs of the delegates. You can choose the course that's right for you. Mix and match objectives and topics, location and course length, and participant numbers to suit you. This provides more effective training that takes less time.

How much does bespoke training cost?
That depends on your precise requirements. The only additional costs of bespoke training compared with an off the shelf course are for development time to create new material to be presented. The cost for delivering training to delegates will be the same for a bespoke and an off the shelf course. When a large number of delegates are being trained, then generally the extra benefits of more effective bespoke training vastly exceed the costs.

"The Skillscentre:MK has been the main provider of first class training for myself and my team of chef's, kitchen staff, customer service personnel and cleaning and maintenance staff.

Over the last few years and with ongoing training scheduled for the future needs of the Academy the Skills Centre team of professional highly skilled trainers have delivered some excellent sessions on a variety of subjects. I lead a team of people that are highly motivated, trained and confident individuals, and a lot of this is the outcome of the training provided through the Skillscentre:MK.

The training my staff have received via the Skills Centre has undoubtedly helped myself and the Academy to gain a five star rating via the "scores on the doors" rating through Milton Keynes Council and has built us a fantastic reputation for our catering and hospitality both at the Academy and in the community."
