First Aid
Overview:
An emergency could happen to anyone, at any time and in any place. If you were involved in an emergency, would you know how to deal with it following the correct procedure?
Each year millions of people are either hurt or killed by an injury or illness. This could be the result of an everyday illness such as asthma, angina and heart attacks, or even conflict resulting in assault. You could be dealing with multiple casualties as the result of a natural disaster. Would you know how to prioritise your casualties?
First aid is a cost effective proven way of saving lives in an emergency. The aim of first aid is to preserve life by protecting yourself, the casualty and any bystanders from any dangers. It is also to prevent the casualty from deteriorating by treating the injury or illness and to promote speedy recovery.
First aid is the initial care of a casualty or casualties before the emergency services arrive. Anyone can do first aid. You’ve probably carried it out without even realising it. What would you do if you cut yourself? Take time to get a greater insight of what our first aid courses cover….and ensure your organisation is covered.
