Adult Continuing Education (ACE)
ACE provides a variety of courses in the Milton Keynes area to suit adult learners.
They are linked to council teams and community organizations and can provide additional opportunities and support to adult learners.
AGE UK - Employment Services
AGE UK offer free support, advice and training to the over 50’s to help them find employment.
Career advisers provide a mix of one-to-one advice and coaching to improve confidence and job search skills, CV building and all aspects of job application. They also run a job club with outside speakers.
Milton Keynes College
MK College is a Further Education College and provider of Adult Education for all age groups in Milton Keynes
The College provides adult Skills for Life; Literacy, Numeracy and ESOL courses at all levels from Beginners to Level 2 and learners are encouraged to progress on to further study at the end of their programme.
In addition programmes are developed in partnership with other organisations that meet local needs and encourage participation from poorly represented groups.
Milton Keynes Council (Housing Employment Project)
Milton Keynes Council (MKC) Housing Services are looking at ways to assist their tenants who are affected by low incomes. Working with Economic Development, Regeneration and partners they can improve access and progression routes to training and job opportunities.
The aim of the Housing Employment Project (HEP) is to engage with MKC tenants and their non-dependants, who are unemployed, are claiming JSA, IS or ESA and are currently not in any education or training.
The HEP will provide tenants with an initial induction assessment of their basic skills. All tenants will be offered the opportunity to attend personal development and employability workshops. These workshops underpin skills required for all individuals, who may be hoping to progress to mainstream education or employment.
Connexions:MK
Connexions: MK is a free, confidential advice and guidance service for all young people in Milton Keynes aged 13 – 19 years (and up to 25 if they have special needs).
Connexions Personal Advisors support young people with education, careers, housing, relationships, health and leisure activities.
Connexions can help to identify employment, apprenticeship and voluntary opportunities, access training schemes and provide further specialist support for young people.

First4Skills
First4Skills provides work-based vocational qualifications and delivery of flexible training solutions to local businesses and various organisations.
They deliver quality funded qualifications, work-based, in partnership with other funding bodies and they assess employee’s eligibility to qualify for funded support to address skills shortages for business.
JHP Training
JHP Group Ltd is one of the largest and most successful employability and skills providers in the UK, offering staff training through a range of Apprenticeships, NVQs and foundation programmes across England, Scotland and Wales.
They offer businesses, a wide range of staff development solutions and individuals the chance to achieve their career aspirations, whether they are in employment or looking for work.
Job Centre Plus (Department for Work and Pensions)
Jobcentre Plus is an executive agency of the Department for Work and Pensions. It provides services that support people of working age from welfare into work, and helps employers to fill their vacancies.
They provide high-quality and demand-led services to employers, which help fill job vacancies quickly and effectively with well-prepared and motivated employees.
Nextstep
Nextstep are the National Integrated Careers Advise Service in the UK offering free impartial careers information and advice that is tailored to meet the needs of clients.
Clients are able to access the Next Step service online, over the phone and face to face and can receive information on learning, training and developing their career prospects. The Next Step service is funded by the Skills Funding Agency and European Social Fund, and will become the National Careers Service in 2012.
The Open University (OU)
The Open University provides, professional qualifications, learning flexibility and skills with top-class teaching for undergraduates, postgraduates and research degrees. Most courses don't need any previous qualifications and they offer a blend of supported open learning and innovative course materials.
Around 600 courses can count towards more than 250 qualifications. With specially designed introductory courses, which can gradually build towards a first university-level qualification, degree and even beyond.
Training Grid
The Training Grid is a not-for-profit social enterprise that has been formed to enable voluntary sector training providers to work together.
It runs partnership programmes of training using the best skills from throughout the sector. The Training Grid is formed to jointly market the VCS (Voluntary and Community Sector) training offer, to increase business levels and efficiency.
They develop training products and promote partnership between the VCS and public and private sectors plus open up progression routes and extend choice for individuals who access VCS services.
MK Women & Work Group
Women & Work Group offer free Advice, Guidance, Training and Support to women who are unemployed and preparing to return to the workplace or who are in low paid/low skilled jobs.
All the courses are free; there are crèche facilities and there are no accreditation fees. The advisers can give advice on employment opportunities, further education and local training opportunities. Additional appointments can be made for a more in depth look at careers or help with interview techniques.
